Fasting of Animals

Research protocols may require animals to be fasted before a surgical or experimental procedure. To initiate fasting, the investigator should fill out a “Fasting Request” form (available in the DLAR main office or click here). The form should be submitted to Mike Gliganic – Box 8611; Fax: 444-8843 or dlar@notes.cc.sunysb.edu). He will post the request form in the animal room and will alert the animal technician working in the room to assure that the fasting is implemented.
